JUST DO IT!! STOP PROCRASTINATION

Well its easier said than done. Nevertheless, let me tell you, as a former queen of procrastination, I could give you a thousand reasons why i would not get that thing done. I would procrastinate and only get it done at the last minute, or sometimes i might not even get it done at all.

But as i learnjust-do-it-1432951_960_720ed better organisational skills, i discovered thinking about doing something takes as much,  if not more, energy than doing it.

So, this year I was pondering about my new year’s resolution and I  just told myself this year I need to do everything I have always wanted to do. What is that project you have been trying to put in place, but every time you have are a reason not to do it? It’s better to try and fail, than never try it at all, and who knows, it might just be the right thing to do.

Wake up and Just do it!!!!

Stay tuned

Halloween and it’s Significance

Imhild on Life

Hello friends! Halloween is just around the corner and every one is trying to get their best costumes for this day. Most often we get carried away with the activities of this day and often do not know the significance of this day or just forget. Have you ever asked yourself what Halloween is all about ? What those this day mean? Christian perspectives on the observance of Halloween today are strongly divided. Some believers feel complete freedom to observe the holiday, others run and hide from it, many boycott or ignore it, a number celebrate it through more positive and imaginative observances. Some of today’s popular celebrations associated with Halloween have pagan roots stemming from the ancient Celtic festival.Halloween came about the Celtic holiday of the Samhain, an ancient celebration of the spirits of the dead. The Feralia is another Halloween inspiration. It was a public festival where citizens made sacrifices…

Can outsiders see Christ in you?

My meditation this morning, kept me reflecting all day and I could not hold myself I just had to write this little article. I read from the book of Acts 4, but I was marveled  by verse 13.
“ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were  astonished.and they  recognized that they had been with Jesus”

Here is something to make me contemplate. Can outsiders or better yet friends and family see Christ in me?Are  you  kind and loving or are you cantankerous? Multitudes gathered to follow Christ everywhere He went…. Are people willing to spend time around me? Do they seek you out for counsel, opinions or advice?
Are there things you need to work on in your actions and attitudes to allow others to get closer to you and see the love you have for Jesus or are you  pushing people away with your self- centered attitude, sharp tongue, hateful actions or coldness? Are you that individual who is so concerned about your personal spiritual life and cares less about others around you?
It’s funny to say this but honestly some claim to be Christians, they read great books, pray, leave a holy life, very picky about what TV show they watch, do all that is required as a Christian, that is great!! but they have no love or show no love to their surroundings. It’s all about them and nothing for others. If Christianity could be summarized in two words it’s Love( loving God by doing what he wants us to do and an overflow of God’s love in us will extend to others) and Honor.
How then do you do all this things when you can’t even show love to those around you? It’s simple you cannot give what you don’t have. God’s love is compassionate so should be our love. There is no way you would love God and be less concerned about those around you.
Hmmm..quite a lot to meditate about today.

One of my favorite testimonies is the one Jerry Savelle tells of the time he was in a shopping mall with his wife Carolyn. He was sauntering from one store to another, casually passing time until Carolyn finished her shopping.
A woman walked up to Jerry and said, “Will you pray for me?” Since he didn’t know the woman, he was puzzled. “Out of all the people in that mall, how was it that she’d picked him out?” he asked. She said, “The Lord told me to come to this mall and someone would be here who could pray for me. I came here looking for that person. I noticed a beam of light. It would go into one store, wander around, then go to another store and wander around some more. I followed the light until I found where it was coming from–and it was coming from you!” What was that light? The glory of God! It was shining from Jerry much like it shone from the face of Moses when he came down from Mount Sinai. And that radiant presence of God brought healing to that woman when Jerry prayed.
Just as the fact that Peter and John had been with Jesus was unmistakable, so was the fact that Jerry Savelle had been with Jesus when that lady walked up to him in the mall. We would properly want to spend time with God so that it becomes unmistakable when people look at us. They will automatically know we have been with Jesus or better still see the light in us .Matthew 5:16 says

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”
When you spend time with Jesus, it will be irrefutable. His glory and His power will be reflected in you to the world. And His presence upon you will meet needs everywhere you go. Take time to be with Jesus today, in this presence we have fullness of joy and our character and minds are renewed.

It’s Spring

Hello, Ladies and Gens, I have been silence for a long while. Taking care of some business. But now, I am back on track and ready to get the ball rolling. I missed you guys, and I know you missed me too.

Ah!! it’s spring that time of the year again when things are blooming, from flowers to weddings and everyone is happy. April showers, May flowers, cool breezes and singing birds. Everything about spring is just so encouraging, growing and succeeding except for its tornadoes.

Spring time is often thunder time, but despite all  the major tornado outbreak, we thank God this time year around, we had had less casualities and more material destruction.

Spring is a great time to have fun and get things done.

Take advantage of this beautiful sunshine and soak some vitamin D. Here are a few ideas to do during this period.

Take a walk in the park. Nothing recharges your battery like connecting with nature.

Go out jogging, shake out the winter fat and get the summer shape.

For music lovers, check out what concerts are coming to your area. There are always festivals and fairs that include performers.

Another great idea for this weather is a grill out. If you don’t have enough space in your apartment or house, try a local park. Invite friends and enjoy the time.

Do something you’ve never done before. Each of us has a list of things we’d “love” to do but have never done. Quit putting it off… Pick one off your list and go do it.

Surprise someone else. “Spring” a surprise on your spouse, best friend, friend, neighbor, co-worker, or whomever you choose.

Don’t be the only one having fun in the spring, share the joy with someone else! Enjoy your spring.

4 Things To Stop Caring About Today.

1) Stop caring about things you can’t control. Some forces are out of your control. Accept this fact of life. Wasting your time, talent and emotional energy on things that are beyond your control is a recipe for frustration, misery and regression. Focus on your future and excel in your present endeavors, because your past does not predict your future.

2) Stop being concerned what the rest of the world says about you. For the most part, what other people think and say about you doesn’t matter. Even though we spend a lot of time worrying about it. Whatever emotions arise in you as a result of external events, they’re powerless until you pick them up and decide to act on them.

3) Stop caring about your Mistakes. We all make mistakes. Mistakes teach you important lessons. The biggest mistake you can make is doing nothing because you’re too scared to make a mistake. If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.

4) Stop caring about being right all the time. What’s right for you may be wrong for me, and vice versa. Sometimes we can “win” an argument and “lose” our relationship in the process. Rather, open your mind to new ideas and opinions and play along sometimes for peace. Don’t just concentrate on what others are doing, spend time figuring out why they are doing what they’re doing. Background plays a great role on our perceptions and beliefs.
